I wanted to put this here before it fades from the memory. We all hear of how its a dog-eat-dog world and I, myself have been guilty of getting disillusioned with all the exploitation, indifference, lack of morals, selfishness and the rest. But then again, there come days like today and the world redeems itself. This happened in the space of 2 hours.
I was on the bus to wherever and I stood up to offer my seat to a woman in her mid-thirties. A stop later, the woman I offered my seat to, stood up to offer the seat to a man in his seventies. After a little egging from the woman, myself and a 14-15yr old girl, the driver stopped the bus about 400meters from where the man got off. He said he’d wait a minute to see if the man came back for the bag or he would have to continue on to the next stop. To which I protested that I would like to get off the bus with the bag and walk back to look for the man and return his bag. The driver refused saying that he was not allowed to open the doors of the bus just anywhere. He could only open the doors at the bus stops. At this point the woman and the teen opened the bag to find medical records in it and used that to coerce the Read the rest of this entry »
